I don't travel a whole lot, but the times that I have gotten away and enjoyed myself most are those where I stayed somewhere other than a hotel.

With friends…

At the Cabins…

and now, at a Loft!

This post is partnered with the Asheville Tourism Board and Yonder Vacation Rentals.  The opinions represented here are all my own.

The Lofts

Loft 101 Doorstep

If you have read about me then you know I am a homebody. It is a large part of why I love DIY’ing my home.

If I am gonna spend most of my time here I want it to feel and look good.

What I have come to find is that when vacationing I like a space that feels like a home away from home. With all of the luxuries of home.  The comforts of home

You know a nice bathroom with good lighting, and kitchen that says “come, prepare, eat”, and a space other than the bed to unwind.

On my recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina I had all of my wishes fulfilled. We stayed at Loft 101 right smack dab in the middle of downtown Asheville. Within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, beautiful attractions, and full of people.

Loft 101 is a property available through Yonder Vacation Rentals.

If you missed it, I shared yesterday all about why I was in Asheville and about the amazing Culinary scene.

When we arrived there was no check in. We were left instructions on how to access the loft and go in and make ourselves at home.

When I arrived Tomiko was just getting there and letting herself in. Once we got in we were in awe of how beautiful this space was.

Rustic farmhouse.  It's my thing…

Y'all know I love that rustic farmhouse vibe. While it was real light on farmhouse it was heavy on the rustic. And I loved it!!

The entry way was a short hall with brick walls. There hung a table set that could be taken out onto the side walk if you chose to delight yourself with breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine to simmer down.

Then there's the main area. The earth tones and wood decor make my heart so happy. When I saw the kitchen I'd be lying if I didn't say I was excited to be able to get down in there.

And I did!

Remember how I said I had never been to a farmers market? Well not true anymore.  While at the farmers market in Asheville I was inspired.  I plan to hit my local market.  And to start to incorporate some of those specialty items you will only find in the market, into my recipes.

While we didn't shop at the market because we didn't want to have that food in the hot car while we were out and about, I walked through and checked out all of the things!

Our second day there we opted to head to the local Whole Foods and grabs few items to prepare breakfast the following day.

Being that I am the food blogger, I was put on notice that I was on breakfast duty.

Breakfast is my favorite meal so it was all good!

I opted to make a turkey bacon, avocado and fried egg croissant. It was so darn good y'all.

Our getaway was a working vacation. So we worked, ate, saw sights and made our way around this quaint little town.

Yes This is a REAL PICTURE

One of the highlights of our trip was heading up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautiful, breathtaking, amazing, a marvelous work of god are all words that could be used to describe it.

We also headed over to the Biltmore, America's largest home, built by George Vanderbilt.  Vanderbilt is an art collector from a family whose wealth was built through steamboats, railroads, and multiple business enterprises.

Each night that we came back to the loft it felt like home.

Each night that we came back to the loft it felt like home.  We each had our own rooms and individual bathrooms as well. This is awesome for traveling with friends or family. Everyone has space and room to breath instead of being stacked on top of each other.

I can't say enough about how much I loved staying at Loft 101.

When it came time to leave we both found ourselves feeling a little sad that it had gone by so fast.

I am now trying to figure out when I will be taking my family back and exploring a little more.

But remember that sandwich I told you I made?

What kind of friend would I be if I didn't share with you the deets on that too?

Check out the recipe below to make your own quick and easy breakfast sandwich.  And the only thing that would make it better was if you booked you a stay and made it at the lofts!
