I love the time between Thanksgiving and into the new year. The energy is so upbeat and joy abounds.
One of my favorite things to do it is to sit in front of the christmas tree after the children have went to sleep and hang out with the hubby.
I have always loved the peace and beauty of the lights.
But outside of that. Here are 5 reasons why I love the Christmas season.
People are Nicer
I don’t know if people have the joy of the lord or from the savings on the sales. While I hope it is the first one, I will take it. People just seem to be so much nicer during the holiday time. They smile more, speak more, heck some even hug more and I love hugs.
Whatever it is, I will take it.
Family Time
My mom always made every holiday a family focused occasion. She has always hosted holiday gatherings for just about every holiday at our house. My mother loves to cook and she truly is the hostess with the mostess.
She started little traditions with our family when we were young that I have carried on with my children. I love getting together with her and my daughter to make christmas cookies for her annual christmas party. Up until I got married, me and my daughter would spend the night there so we would all wake up together.
This year, with it being our first year in NC, my parents and brother will be here. I can not wait!
Good Food
Now yall know how much I love food. If you follow me on Instagram, Tiwtter and possibly even on facebook you see my foodie posts. I love good food. I love eggnog, and I use it to make some of EVERYTHING.
There is nothing better than a table full of food made with love and your family there to share it with.
LOVE love LOVE it!
Fresh Start
Towards the end of the year, I start reflecting alot. While I don’t make resolutions. I do always do a word of the year. So towards the end of the year I start reflecting and working on a word for the new year.
I think about my goals and what I have accomplished so far. And I love the opportunity to start fresh at the top of a new year.
Decorations
This circles back to what I stated at the very beginning of this post. I love the christmas decor. The smells, the sounds. I love it all. In my house I have two christmas trees, and then there is small one in my room. Just because you can never have enough.
While hubby has not been into decorating the outside of the house, it is my hope that since it is now warmer outside he might entertain a little something on the outside.
Either way. I love it!
You had me at food LOL. This is one for my favorite times of year as well. If it could just be warmer it would top my list but alas, summer still wins 🙂
