Ever wondered what to get your kids’ teacher for Valentine’s Day, outside of the candy treats you send for the kids?
If I could send wine I sure would cause god knows if I spent the majority of my days with a large group of first graders I’d need wine daily.
But since I can’t send wine, cookies are the next best thing. Homemade, fluffy chocolate chip cookies.
Ready in minutes. And with only a few added ingredients needed.
You provide the dry ingredients and the maker needs the wet ones. Together they make some of the most delicious gifted cookies someone could receive.

How To Make Cookie Mix Jars?
Start out by pre-washing your jars. I usually buy them in bulk and have them on hand for different things.
Make sure you dry them well so the ingredients don’t stick inside them when they go to make them.
From there in a small bowl, you want to mix your flour, salt, baking powder and set it aside.
If you haven’t measured out your other ingredients, do that so we can begin layering.
Start layering with the flour mixture. And then the brown sugar for contrast. Then add the sugar, and top it off with your chocolate.
You can mix them together and add them in or further build the color layers. You choose.
Once you have added all the layers, close up your mason jar and add any decorations you like.

How To Store Cookie Mix Jars?
The cookie jars are best stored in a cool, dark place like in a cabinet.
How Long Does Cookie Mix In A Jar Last?
If stored in a cabinet or other dry place the cookie mix jar can and should last for up to 6 months. This is assuming that you are using fresh ingredients (of course you are). Make sure to check the expiration dates on the materials you are using.
Also worth noting is that if you add nuts to the mix, (which I don’t cause of allergies if I am gifting unless I know for sure) that changes the freshness factor to three months, instead of six.
