Mashed potatoes cooked slowly in the crockpot, then mashed with butter and heavy cream for a perfect comfort food side dish.

Peel and slice potatoes.
Place the potatoes in the crockpot.
Pour in the broth.
Sprinkle in garlic.
Add 1/4 cup butter.
Cover and cook on high for 3 1/2 - 4 hours, until potatoes, are very soft.
Drain any leftover liquids from the crockpot.
Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes until smooth.
