Ingredients
 

  • 1 pound whole wheat rotini pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 15- ounce container ricotta cheese
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a large casserole dish by spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet with diced onion and chopped garlic. Remove from heat and drain of excess fat.
  • Mix in marinara sauce and cooked pasta.
  • In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, one cup of mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
  • Place a layer of pasta mixture in the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • Top with a layer of cheese mixture.
  • Continue layering until all ingredients have been used.
  • Top final layer with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly.
