Equipment

  • Paint brush
  • Paint tray
  • Paint tray liners
  • Sander (optional)
  • [Stain Applicator]

Instructions
 

  • Sand and clean free of sawdust if wood is in rough shape.
  • Put painter’s tape around any areas that you do not want the stain to get onto.
  • Start with the railings if the area you are working with has them.
  • Go around the edge outside and inside of the railings, and the interior edges of the steps with a paint brush.
  • Use the deck stain tool or a paint pad to apply the product to the main and majority of the surface area.
  • Cover the area making sure not to put the sealant on too thick. Only one layer is needed.
  • Work in small areas as you move through working outside in like you would do when mopping and trying not to step on the wet floor.
  • Going through the boards is not necessary unless you have large space between on board with imperfections.
  • Once area is covered and complete, allow a full 24 hours to dry.
