Mix vegetable oil, sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs and vanilla in large bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder, and salt.
Mix the dry and wet ingredients.
Add in half of the chopped pecans and stir to combine.
Grease bread pan (6 cups/1.4 liters) and sprinkle in ½ of the chopped pecans into the pan. Pour the pumpkin bread batter over the chopped pecans in the pan.
Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
