How To Upcycle Furniture Using DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint Project
TaKenya Hampton
A chalk painted upcycled dresser makeover to an old school dresser that was quality made but sore on the eyes using chalky paint from DecoArt.
Prep Time15 minutes mins
Active Time2 hours hrs
Drying Time3 hours hrs
Total Time5 hours hrs 15 minutes mins
I started by taking the dresser apart. Removing the hardware from the drawers and setting the drawers aside from the dresser.
Clean dresser and drawers. I just used a cloth and wipe it down. There was a lot of dust.
Apply the first coat and allow to dry. Chalk paint dries really quickly. It only took about thirty minutes for it to dry.
There was one part that needed repair in the corner, so I glued and clamped it before doing my second coat.
Apply second coat.
Once all dried, cover/top with wax or polyurethane.
Reassemble all the pieces.
Add new hardware. (if you choose)
