Here’s what you need to know beforehand.

My Bread Keeps Falling Apart. What Am I Doing Wrong?

If you’ve made pumpkin bread earlier and are facing this issue, or maybe you’re just having a problem with breads in general, this trick can help.

Remember to control the amount of fat you’re adding into the pumpkin pecan bread mixture. Be it butter, oil or shortening. This is true as well for the leavening agent, baking powder or baking soda.

Adding too much of either of these can cause your bread to become crumbly and fall apart when you try to slice it.

Why is My Pumpkin Pecan Bread Turning Out So Dense?

A lot of bread makers face this issue and find their bread turning out dense and with a brick like texture.

This might be due to many different reasons.

It could be that the flour you’re using might not have enough protein content

Possibly, you might not have kneaded it long enough, or you did not let it prove for enough time.

Sometimes, it could also be due to the fact that you might have left the dough in a hot place before cooking and that could have killed the yeast.

Make sure you focus on getting all of these important factors right, and not just the dough.

Why Has My Bread Turned Out Tasteless?

One of the most common reasons why your pumpkin pecan bread could turn out bland and tasteless is the fact that you might have ended up overworking your dough, which could have caused the flour to oxidize and lose its flavor.

Another important tip to keep in mind is to use good quality yeast. Making sure to only use as much as the recipe calls for.

Adding too much yeast can also cause your bread to taste bland.

How Do I Know that the Pumpkin Bread is Done?

The simplest way to check if your baked bread is done is to insert a toothpick in the center. Check to see if it comes out clean.

Pumpkin bread also usually develops a crack in the center once it is done, so you might want to check that too!

Can I Refrigerate the Pumpkin Pecan Bread?

You don’t actually need to refrigerate your pumpkin bread. Especially not if you’re planning to eat it within a day or two. It can stay great at room temperature thanks to its pumpkin and oil content.

It doesn’t need refrigeration unless you want to store it for more than 3 days.
